Metabolism part two

Soon I will be talking about apple slices in McDonalds new happy meals.  They are doing a trial run here in Atlanta to launch nation wide next year and I think it’s a great idea.  Don’t you?  That’s not the only thing they’re changing either.  I’ll talk more on that later this week.

So have we decided that increasing your metabolism can help you burn calories, replace fat with muscle and give you more energy?  Of course we have.  I have, I hope you have too!  Now, here is a brief list of the foods that will help you do just that.

First I have a couple of quick words about breakfast.  EAT IT!

Your cells need to be replenished with nutrients or they will adapt to surviving on less by storing fat in anticipation of future deprivation. Does that make sense? It’s called starvation.   Besides who wants to depend on yesterday’s food to do today’s work, right?

Eating a diet that is full of nutritious foods, including high fiber - which is about 25 grams plus and limiting sugar, can help speed up your metabolism.

All right, here’s a list of foods to start with.

Whole grains, dark leafy green vegetables, fish, tomatoes, blueberries, apples/pears, lean turkey, water, low fat yogurt and grapefruit are all in the ‘better foods to eat’ department.

So, eat 4-6 meals daily.  Keep your three larger meals (in calories, that is 300-500 calories) and then eat a couple of snacks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  Keep those around 200 calories or less.  Eating smaller frequent meals along with staying hydrated will help keep the metabolism going and that’s what you want.  Trust me here.

I’m wondering what would you have to do differently to eat a diet like I just suggested above?  Think about it for a minute now…

How would your life have to change to be able to eat 6 smaller meals daily.  It is possible, I have clients do it all week long and they are losing weight.

Here’s what I will do for you.  I would be more than happy to do a free wellness consult with you over the phone.  We can talk about habits that you have, decide if they are keepers, or get rid of some.  Then you are on your way to a thinner, healthier you.  In reality, if you really want to, you could be 25 lbs. less by Christmas!  Yes 2011…

Let’s chat. I love talking to people who follow my blog.   I have the answers for you and then you can decide how you want to move forward. Click on the contact button up above or use this link and drop me a line.
